Great Piece of My Work

This work is done during an interior model making workshop. We were told to do an exhibition design by our own interest. This work uncovered my liking towards mice. There are two reasons for doing this topic as well as having good impression towards mice. Firstly, mice are my Chinese zodiac. Secondly, I like the funny cartoons illustration such as Mickey Mouse. After some findings, I discovered that there are contrasting views when human think of mice. One hand is intellectual,and the other hand is harmful. I thought People need to get a full picture rather than a part . So, I decided to make an exhibition to show people the two sides of mice in order to enable them to see from more angles. There are gradually shortened walls to get an experience entering mice holes. There are demonstrations of how a mouse image has changed, from aspects of animation,pet keeping, daily products, fashions etc. There are also many elements about mice to be different parts of the exhibition, like a door of mouse mouth, toilets, ticket office, and seats inspired by cheese. The main design element used is contrasting,through the height, light of space and size of objects.

Great Piece of Architecture

This abnormal and mysterious building is the UK Pavilion in ShangHai World Expo designed by Thomas Heatherwick Studio. It is made by countless wires whose ends can light up different colors. The whole building is like a cube ball with points.The points are not hurt. In fact, the rods are so soft that it will move with the wind blowing that makes the form flexible. This design is able to represent the inventory characteristics of modern England. If people look at the building far away, the building will appear to be like a national flag of UK. Also, the wires can change to various colors, so it can make eye-catching looks. Comparing to other building, this building is a technological breakthrough of using unseen materials. Inside the building is a curve interior with the ends of rods that store a huge bank of seeds all distinct from each other.

In this photograph,it captured a street scene.It projects my feeling as fresh to Sydney as well as the university.I took this photo inside a Vietnamese restaurant.At that time,I was having dinner with my dad who came along with me to settle things down. That was our last dinner before my dad going back to Hong Kong. At that moment,I got mixed feeling of a bit anxiety and sadness. I understood that I am going to the next stage of my studying and life. I need to be independent that can take care own daily necessity. The trees outside are turning orange and dim. I know that sunset was happening. And I saw passers-by walking across the restaurant. Plenty of cars shuttled through the road. At the moment, I could feel the rhythm of the city,just in the air.That is somewhere that I would like to stay. Afterwards,my feeling became more relaxed and comfortable rather than being down. It seems to be a normal street scene outside a restaurant glass in Sydney evening,but the moment is valuable for me.
